Kathie Ferbas, PhD is the Scientific Lead for the ACTG Laboratory Center. Dr. Ferbas obtained her Ph.D. in Infectious Disease, Molecular Virology and Immunology. She has a broad background in HIV/AIDS research and successfully ran an NIH and Department of Veteran’s Affairs funded research program focused on determinants of HIV that may be important for HIV vaccine development as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She also currently serves as the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Officer for the Aldrovandi Clinical Laboratory, and the Scientific Manager of the UCLA-CDU Center for AIDS Research.
